SOD INSTALLATION - WATER - MOWING
Sod Installation - Lay sod like a brick layer lays bricks (see ex.). Start laying sod along a straight edge, such as back wall, border, or driveway. Always start in back and work forwards. Put one piece of sod out and continue to lay on one straight line, continuing the row. As you begin the second row, cut the first slab in half and complete that row. And when you begin the third row, leave the first slab whole... Bump up your seams tightly togethe. It's best to cut the sod with a serrated steak knife. After sod is all laid out, lightly water and go over with a lawn roller. The rolling removes the air pockets between the sod and soil and will root in faster, which in turn makes the grass healthier. Rolling your sod will not magically transform your grade, if your grade is uneven to start with, it will remain uneven.

Summer Months - 3 to 4 times a day for 10 to 5 minutes.
Winter Months - 3 to 4 times a day for 5 to 7 minutes. This is for first 7 days.
After a week or two, reduce water to once a day for 5 to 10 minutes. You should deep soak your lawn in summer months at least once a month for 30 minutes. This helps develop deep root structure. Never water at night, it will bring in bugs and turf diseases. All lawns are different sandy lawns require more water, clay soil requires less water.

Mowing - It's best to mow, about 10 to 14 days after your sod was installed. If you wait too long, and then cut it, it could be scalped. It won't hurt the grass, it will come back.
